If you are an injured worker there are a number of people who will assist you in your return to work with a new employer including:
- your claims manager, handling the overall management of your claim, including your income maintenance payments
- the rehabilitation provider, developing your return to work plans and negotiating with your medical providers and your pre-injury employer
- specialist provider, assisting when their expertise is necessary
- CentreLink, obtaining a Job Seeker number for use when approaching Job Network agencies.
Rehabilitation provider
Vocational rehabilitation provides a service that supports you in finding a new job after an injury. If you are unable to return to your pre-injury employer and are able to work, your claims manager will refer you.
Working with you and rehabilitation providers we support you by:
- assessing and matching suitable jobs
- upgrading your skills if necessary
- providing assistance in updating your resume
- providing job search information
- publicising the incentive scheme to employers and obtaining job leads
- ensuring employers are suitable participants
- assessing the need of re-training
- assisting where aggravation of injury occurs or is likely to occur.
